About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Surgical Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and versatile therapist to lead on the development and implementation of occupational therapy services across the surgical wards.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience working in acute hospital settings. They will be responsible for leading a team of occupational therapists and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

This is a full-time post, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to develop and implement occupational therapy services that meet the needs of patients across the surgical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of occupational therapy services across the surgical wards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise and appraise junior therapists and students.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current best practice in occupational therapy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or degree in occupational therapy.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Experience as a senior occupational therapist.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills in neuro-oncology.
