Job Title: Therapeutic Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Support Worker to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and support to individuals with mental health conditions, including cognitive behavioural therapy and brief psychological interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to service users on problem-solving, coping strategies, and daily routines.
  • Contribute to the development of referral guidelines and exclusion criteria for clients who may benefit from our services.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with service users, carers, and colleagues.
Person Specification:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge and experience, plus knowledge of specific mental health conditions.
  • Good general education up to GCSE equivalent.
  • Psychology degree (2.1 or above; BPS accredited).
Desirable Criteria:
  • Short course or in-house training in cognitive behavioural therapy or dialectical behavioural therapy.
Experience:
  • Clinical experience of working on a one-to-one basis with people with mental health problems.
  • Experience of supporting service users in problem-solving and grading tasks.
  • Clinical experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • High-level communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information to service users, carers, and colleagues.
  • Able to contain and work with high levels of distress from service users.
Other:
  • Ability to travel across CPFT locality and have access to a vehicle.
