Senior Quantity Surveyor - Electrical Substations

Kenton Black is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Inverurie-based Transmission & Distribution team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on electrical substation projects, utilizing their expertise to ensure commercial success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage BOQs, profit plans, and other commercial documents.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts, ensuring timely payment certificates and payments.
  • Administer contract obligations, meet client requirements, and identify potential commercial risks.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Engineer to ensure accurate progress reporting and scheduling.
  • Cost and agree daily work changes, including subcontractor remeasurement, site dayworks, and site change orders.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup for commercial tracking and costing.
  • Negotiate with clients or their representatives as necessary.
Requirements
  • Main or subcontractor background.
  • Project experience in substations, HV/MV/LV.
  • BSc Quantity Surveying.
