Job Title: HLTA

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HLTA to join our team at Step Teachers. As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in a Key Stage 1 class, providing one-on-one or small group assistance during classroom activities, and adapting instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Modify and adapt teaching materials to cater to students' diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and emotional growth.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 1, preferably in Year 5.
  • Strong understanding of various disabilities, including learning difficulties, and ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when faced with challenges.
