About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Care Practitioner to join our team in Robotics Surgery. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during robotic surgeries, providing peri-operative care, and developing the team's surgical skills and knowledge in Robotic surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons during robotic surgeries, including prepping and draping, port incision, robot set up, instrumentation knowledge, management of bleeding, specimen management, and drain insertion.
  • Participate in surgical procedures at the direction and/or instruction of the Consultant surgeon.
  • Develop research-based practice, quality assurance in line with the Care Standards Act 2000, and clinical audit.
  • Supervise and instruct junior members of the team, facilitating their CPD, setting goals, and mentoring as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Significant experience at a Surgical Care Practitioner level assisting surgeons through robotic surgeries, with experience in abdominal and pelvic surgery preferable.
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical decision making, clinical surgical skills, teaching, critical thinking, coaching, counseling, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to proactively identify opportunities for team and individual improvement, skills and knowledge development, and engage staff in teaching and training.
  • Eagerness to take autonomy in Robotics projects while utilizing collaboration with the Lead SCP and various consultants.
  • Acting as a point of contact for Robotic surgery and services to optimize patient care.
