Job Title: Head of Engineering

At Lorien, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering teams and drive technical innovation.

About the Role

The Head of Engineering will be responsible for defining and executing the technical roadmap that supports our product vision and portfolio. This includes driving engineering innovation, enhancing the developer experience, and ensuring we have the best technical platform to support our diverse portfolio of betting products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee multiple engineering managers and product engineering teams to ensure quality is engineered into the foundations of our products.
  • Develop and communicate a clear engineering and technical strategy that aligns with our overarching product strategy and OKRs.
  • Lead organisational level change initiatives to provide beneficial and pragmatic alignment across both organisations.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a stellar team of engineering managers and technical leads, guiding them in discovery, prioritization, and execution of our business initiatives.
  • Ensure teams are motivated and productive, achieving real customer and business impact by providing growth opportunities, succession planning, coaching, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Serve as engineering evangelist both internally and externally, presenting engineering updates and benefits to our engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A degree in a STEM subject or similar provable numerate and quantitative skills.
  • Over five years' experience in engineering leadership, leading multiple software engineering teams, and a demonstrable technical understanding of fast-moving data at scale.
  • A passion for technical craft and problem-solving, with a servant leadership approach for leading teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with C-level executives and present at external events.
