Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. As a key member of our office team, you will be responsible for working on all mechanical elements of our projects and collaborating with our project team to manage the delivery of a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the project team to create efficient methods of working and maintain project profitability.
  2. Complete mechanical design elements of all Company projects.
  3. Develop specifications and schedules for equipment required for each project.
  4. Specify job requirements and parts/equipment/materials needed for project scoping and on-site delivery.
  5. Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures.
  6. Establish methods for administering field tests and develop ways to monitor test quality.
  7. Utilize design drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  8. Survey mechanical systems and plans.
  9. Manage and oversee all elements of project delivery under a Project Manager, including preparation of necessary documentation, costings, proposals, specifications, site testing, and commissioning documentation.
  10. Project budget and programme management.
  11. Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including commitment to OH&S, environmental, and quality objectives, and using correct Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/related field or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' related field and project experience.
  • Excellent project management/organisational skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent degree of computer literacy.
  • CAD expertise and experience preferable.
  • Field/practical experience essential.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude with a flexible approach to work.
  • Valid UK driving licence (full, clean).
  • CSCS card preferable.
  • Confined spaces training (preferable).
