About the role

We are seeking an experienced Global Category Manager specialising in HR Services to join our Indirects Category Team. This individual will drive holistic value and cost reduction across assigned spend portfolios, encompassing HR Services expenses across all divisions.

As a key member of the team, you will create value by developing innovative category strategies and commercial procurement solutions that deliver a competitively advantaged supply base for DS Smith across all HR Services expense.

The Indirects Category Team is responsible for:

  • Aligning the Indirects Procurement strategy with business goals, including growth, innovation, and ESG objectives.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to ensure competitive sourcing of quality products and supplier services, while maintaining strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Partnering differently across the value chain to create innovative business offerings that delight customers and support business growth.

You will leverage tools like Porters Five Forces and Kraljic to gain market insights and understand cost drivers specific to HR & L&D. Additionally, you will develop deep understanding of supplier capabilities, industry trends, and roadmaps for key products and/or services.

About the responsibilities

  • Develop and implement 1-3 year category strategies, supported by execution roadmaps to deliver this strategy with short, medium, and long-term initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate Supplier contracting strategies are in place to mitigate legal and regulatory exposure.
  • Embed and monitor relevant supplier KPIs, engineering, and site standards into project contracts in support of business requirements.
  • Communicate preferred supplier arrangements to guide the business towards compliant purchasing practices.

About you

  • A strong knowledge and demonstrated experience of procurement roles in HR Services.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
  • A style and approach that prioritises diversity and inclusion in all interactions.
  • Bachelor's degree level or equivalent by experience.
  • Fluency in English, with fluency in another European language an advantage.
