About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team at OHES Environmental. As an Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in providing customers with commercially aware, technically proficient, and professional environmental risk reduction services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Consultancy Division in providing customers with environmental risk reduction services.
  • Utilize technical knowledge of contaminated land consultancy to carry out environmental investigation, assessment, reporting, remediation verification, and project management of environmental insurance claims.
  • Lead and supervise project management of environmental insurance claims and commercial projects with close support and training.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Undertake site investigations to determine the extent and severity of impact and assess environmental risks.
  • Log soils during investigations to a good standard and in accordance with best practice.
  • Prepare health, safety, and environmental documentation including risk assessments and method statements along with reporting of H&S near misses and positive observations.
  • Manage and plan site investigations, monitoring, remedial, and validation works.
  • Schedule and interpret field and laboratory data.
  • Produce interpretive environmental reports including conceptual site models and preliminary risk assessments.
  • Assist in undertaking and supporting the design, implementation, and verification of environmental remediation works.
  • Control and take responsibility for project budgeting and financial management.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant earth science or geo-environmental discipline.
  • 2-3 years' work experience in managing environmental incidents, carrying out contaminated land surveys, and site investigations.
  • Knowledge of available drilling techniques and remediation technologies for contaminated soil and groundwater.
  • The ability to work together in a team and demonstrate the drive and self-motivation to work independently.
  • Experience in logging soil and rock in accordance with best practice and developing conceptual site models.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, contractors, regulators, and other consultants.
  • Competency in the production of technical reports to a high standard.
