SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Durham

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN teaching assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Durham. As a key member of our staffing team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in a Primary School setting.
  • Good English and Maths skills, with a strong understanding of curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Autism awareness training and Team Teach certification (desirable).
  • A nurturing and patient approach, with a passion for supporting students with special needs.
