Software Engineering Internship Opportunity

Rapid7 is seeking talented students to join our engineering teams in Belfast for their placement year. As a company, we have made significant investments in our Belfast office to attract top talent and accelerate our growth. Our placement programme has been key to our success, with our interns becoming future engineers. We make you part of the team from day one, offering the opportunity to grow as a professional software engineer with us.

As a Software Engineering Intern at Rapid7, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to apply your current knowledge in a real-world work environment, building, maintaining, and releasing well-architected services by writing code and solving problems.
  • Participate in the design and planning of upcoming features, with our engineers as first-class stakeholders in all development processes.
  • Partner with internal teams, such as UX and Product Management, to ensure we understand our customers' needs.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our products to best support our customers.
  • Follow our team's agile methodology.

  • You will have weekly 1:1s with your manager and a dedicated team mentor throughout your placement.

Successful candidates will be:

  • Currently enrolled at one of our partner universities and in their 2nd year studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, displaying a strong academic record and seeking a 12-month placement opportunity.
  • Currently residing in Northern Ireland and have the Right to Work within the UK.
  • Excited by technology, curious, and eager to learn new technologies such as Java, Python, Go, C++, Ruby, Javascript, React, and developing in Cloud environments like AWS.
  • Excellent problem solvers.
  • Able to display strong communication skills both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • A collaborative team player who can partner with others and drive towards solutions.
