Key Responsibilities

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development, maintenance, and support of the company's IT infrastructure. You will ensure seamless daily operations and collaborate closely with internal teams to implement innovative IT solutions that align with business goals. You will troubleshoot complex issues, manage core systems, and continuously improve network performance and security.

Technical Requirements

Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level technical support and assistance to end-users by quickly identifying, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimise downtime.

System Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain a variety of IT infrastructure components including computer systems, servers, networking devices, and storage solutions to meet organisational requirements.

Server & Application Management: Install, configure, and manage servers, operating systems, and essential software applications to support business operations.

Monitoring & Performance Optimisation: Continuously monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot potential bottlenecks or failures, ensuring high availability and performance of critical IT systems.

Implement and enforce robust security protocols to protect company data, network infrastructure, and sensitive systems from unauthorized access or breaches.

Firewall & Network Management: Manage and update firewall settings and network configurations to ensure secure and efficient data flow across the company's infrastructure.

Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies and tools to recommend and implement upgrades that enhance system performance, reliability, and security.

Administer user accounts, set permissions, and control access levels in line with organisational policies and procedures.

IT Project Involvement: Actively participate in the planning, execution, and support of IT projects, including but not limited to system migrations, hardware upgrades, and cloud deployments.

Backup & Disaster Recovery: Execute regular backups and disaster recovery strategies to protect against data loss, ensuring business continuity in case of system failures or cyber threats.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in infrastructure support and management.

Deep understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), Proficiency in Linux and/or Windows server administration, including experience with system automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

Solid experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), with a preference for Azure experience.

Familiarity with administering cloud services such as Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Jira, and Slack.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, or other infrastructure-related certifications are highly desirable.
