Senior Synthetic Chemist

Biosynth, a pioneering life sciences company headquartered in Switzerland, seeks an exceptional Senior Synthetic Chemist to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to excel in laboratory work, contribute ideas to projects, and design chemistry for custom synthesis.

• Execute laboratory work following provided synthetic routes and contribute ideas to other projects.
• Design and develop chemistry for custom synthesis projects.
• Plan and execute synthetic programmes independently.
• Work efficiently in the laboratory to meet project deadlines.
• Carry out characterisation and data analysis.
• Perform all laboratory work safely and comply with regulations and company policies.

This position requires an MSc or PhD graduate chemist with a proven record in synthetic chemistry. Experience in carbohydrate, nucleoside, or related research is advantageous. Familiarity with scale-up chemistry (up to 20 ltr scale) and process chemistry experience are desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of purification techniques. As a key member of our team, you will manage Synthetic Chemist 1, Synthetic Technicians, or industrial placement students where applicable.

Biosynth offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with experienced professionals, contributing to the development of innovative chemical and biochemical products.
