ROLE

You will take responsibility for the electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production, taking into account requirements, timescales, cost, and regulatory constraints. You will work with colleagues across the business, including product management and business development, to support new commercial opportunities as well as operations, supporting technology transfer to manufacture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provide environmental commitment for site to maintain sustainability and progression to net zero.
  2. Digital and analogue electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production.
  3. Schematic and board layout using Altium Designer CAD tool.
  4. Hands-on soldering, fault finding.
  5. EMC and electrical safety compliance support.
  6. Cost model, RoHS analysis, and compilation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  1. Digital and analogue design experience.
  2. Embedded programming experience in C, FPGA VHDL.
  3. C++,.NET, C#, Java, Python, or algorithm development an advantage.
  4. Familiarity with CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium).
  5. Clear and concise report writing with good attention to detail.
  6. Ability to take on other systems elements within a project, such as thermals, optics, etc., an advantage.
  7. Competency with Microsoft Office products.
  8. Willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.
  9. Hands-on, self-motivated, willing to learn, and help evolve the R&D department and build an expert team.
