Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to join our Regulation team at Healthcare Improvement Scotland. As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of ionizing radiation in medical settings across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IR(ME)R)
  • Develop and implement inspection guidance and protocols to ensure consistency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Support the registration and inspection of independent healthcare services, including hospitals, hospices, and clinics
  • Conduct complaints investigations and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in radiology or a related field
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R and local systems for delivering safe care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
