Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspector to join our Regulation team at Healthcare Improvement Scotland. As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of ionizing radiation in medical settings across Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IR(ME)R)
- Develop and implement inspection guidance and protocols to ensure consistency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and outcomes
- Support the registration and inspection of independent healthcare services, including hospitals, hospices, and clinics
- Conduct complaints investigations and provide recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- Education to degree level or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in radiology or a related field
- Knowledge of IR(ME)R and local systems for delivering safe care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
