As a Senior Analog Design Engineer at Cisco, you will be a key member of our Mixed Signal Design team, responsible for developing high-speed analog designs for optical communications products.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect, design, layout, measure, and productize ultra-deep sub-micron-based CMOS products.

Lead efforts for large blocks on complex chips, mentor team members, and track deliverables.

Participate in peer review of complex IC designs and provide solid design methodology from conception to production.

Collaborate with packaging and hardware design teams to ensure signal and power integrity specifications are met.

Requirements:

  • BSEE degree with 12+ years of experience or equivalent, or MS degree with 8+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
  • Design, simulation, and measurement of high-speed ICs in areas such as high-speed serial links, voltage regulators, high-performance output drivers, and high-performance phase-locked loops.
  • Experience with FinFET technology, high-frequency layout, and custom transistor layout.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, including characterization over PVT, electro-migration analysis, and power and IR drop analysis.
  • Experience with laboratory validation, including solid ESD laboratory practices and methodology, and construction of test setups to test specific circuitry.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Cadence (Virtuoso), Spectre/APS/SpectreX, and Matlab.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with electrical transceiver applications, including backplane and cable communications.
  • Experience with high-frequency layout, including passive component design and floorplanning.
