Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly responsible and mature individual with a natural ability to work with dogs. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for and interacting with dogs and puppies. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and a 2-year contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Walking our acclaimed breeding dogs is an extremely important responsibility.
  2. The successful candidate will be required to follow our dog and puppy training protocols using positive reinforcement methods.
  3. They must possess a natural ability to interact with animals.
  4. Puppy Care Coordinators, approximately 6 part-time team members, will be led by the successful candidate.
  5. Managing the Shift Schedule and time off requests will be a key responsibility.
  6. Punctuality is required due to the nature of our business and working with live animals.
  7. Kennel boarding experience is an asset.
  8. Vet tech experience is an asset.
  9. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and able to work alone.
  10. General job responsibilities include cleaning pens & whelping boxes, feeding/water, brushing/grooming, bathing puppies, cleaning the training facility floors, general dusting/cleaning as time permits, etc.

Additional Opportunities:
  1. Extra hours are available for outdoor maintenance and office duties.
  2. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train puppies in their home (4-weeks) for our 12-week full training program (optional). Compensation for this would be $1,750/month.

Work Schedule:
  1. Morning Shift - 7/7:30am to 9:30/10am (~2 to 3 hours)
  2. Afternoon Shift – 3:00pm to 5/6pm (~2 to 3 hours)
  3. Bedtime Shift – 9:00pm to 10:30pm (1 1⁄2 hours)

At least 15 of 21 scheduled shifts weekly, including weekends, are required. Able to work all 21 shifts only if necessary.
