About the RoleThe Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader will work collaboratively with school staff to develop and implement a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. This includes promoting a positive school culture, supporting teachers to embed evidence-based mental health strategies, and providing guidance on referral pathways for students who require further assessment and intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, engaging students, staff, and families in the process.
- Support teachers to develop and implement evidence-based mental health strategies and interventions.
- Collaborate with school staff to inform and influence teaching and learning practices related to mental health and wellbeing.
- Provide guidance on referral pathways for students who require further assessment and intervention.
- Work with school leadership and wellbeing teams to embed whole-school approaches to mental health into school planning and strategic processes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff to develop and implement a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and families.
- Knowledge of evidence-based mental health strategies and interventions.
