Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ComTec Information Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our locomotives and coaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and Warranty: Commission and warranty locomotives and/or coaches to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Analysis: Troubleshoot and analyze failures on locomotives or coaches to identify the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Repairs: Perform mechanical and electrical repairs using mechanical drawings, schematics, and location circuit plans.
  • System Troubleshooting: Use laptops with subsystem software to troubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.
  • Electrical Malfunction Diagnosis: Diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive or coach control circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective actions needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document failures, part exchanges, and implementation of Field Modifications (FMIs) in our Commissioning and Warranty database.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate technical information, job procedures, recommendations, improvements, and other work-related information to the site lead and colleagues.
  • Part Management: Receive and send out failed parts for repair.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Driver's License: Individual must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
