Job Title: Principal Product Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Product Safety team, you will be responsible for leading the development of functional Safety Cases and ensuring the safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team in developing functional Safety Cases to a defined schedule
  • Manage the production of Safety Cases, reporting to a Safety Engineering Manager
  • Undertake complex safety analysis using techniques such as Fault Tree analysis and Event Tree Analysis
  • Produce written function safety justifications
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including System Engineers and Human Factors Subject Matter Experts

Requirements:

  • STEM Degree or relevant experience
  • Leading a small team
  • Delivering functional Safety Cases
  • Complex safety analysis and justification

Desirable:

  • Previous submarine experience
  • Particularly Vehicle Control
  • Complex Control Systems
