Job Purpose

As an IPS Employment Specialist, your mission is to empower individuals with mental health support needs by helping them secure sustainable employment that aligns with their preferences. You will deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, providing person-centred guidance to clients while fostering positive relationships with local employers. Your role within community mental health teams or early intervention psychosis teams will support a holistic approach to recovery through employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement person-centred employment plans for clients with mental health support needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers to secure job opportunities for clients.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients to help them secure and maintain employment.
  • Work collaboratively with community mental health teams and early intervention psychosis teams to support a holistic approach to recovery.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the IPS approach and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • A people-centred approach in a commercial framework.
  • Demonstratable passion to further the charitable aims of the organization.
  • Collaborative skills to work with others behind the organization's mission.
  • Experience/understanding of working with people with mental health support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services, or the voluntary sector.
  • Resilience and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work 65% of the time in the community or in a mental health treatment hub.
