Overview

We're seeking an experienced Linux Support Engineer to join our client for an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is crucial for providing robust support and administration of Linux servers and virtual environments, monitoring job processing elements, and offering desktop support.

Salary & Benefits

This position offers a competitive day rate of £450 per day (Inside IR35), along with subsidised meals at the onsite canteen with a free meal one day per week, and free accessible parking.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support and maintenance for Linux servers and virtual environments.
  • Monitoring job processing elements to ensure seamless operations.
  • Offering desktop support to users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Extensive experience in Linux server administration and support.
  • Proven knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMware.
  • Proficiency with XML configuration files.
  • Previous desktop support experience with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Database administration experience with SQL, MSSQL, or MySQL.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with team members and stakeholders.

Location & Contract Details

The role is based onsite in Warwick, UK, and the contract length is initially 3 months (extension available).
