Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Supermarket Assistant to join our team at Waitrose & Partners in various South West London branches. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including food and drink trends, to provide customers with informed recommendations.
  • Ensure the shop floor is well-stocked, visually appealing, and meets the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash and card payments according to set procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve sales targets and meet customer needs.
Requirements:
  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy when handling cash and card transactions.
