At Longleat, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Retail Buyer to join our team on a temporary basis. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for driving our profitability to new heights and enhancing the overall guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in purchasing and product development within a fast-paced retail environment. You will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and securing an optimum range of products to maximise sales and profitability, as well as developing product ranges in line with our retail strategy, budgets, quality, and price requirements.

Key duties will include:

  • Strategic sourcing and procurement of products to meet sales and profitability targets
  • Development of product ranges in line with our retail strategy and budgets
  • Review and analysis of department performance, including sales, ranging, and competitor development
  • Management and monitoring of supplier performance to ensure targets are met
  • Negotiation of terms and conditions with suppliers to improve cost price, lead times, and quality
