About Serco's Prisoner Escort Role

As a Prisoner Escort Officer with Serco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of detainees to and from courts and other facilities. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and transport detainees from prisons or police stations to courts and other facilities
  • Ensure the care and well-being of detainees during transportation and while in custody
  • Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells, and complete paperwork and data entry as required
  • Search property or people as necessary, and maintain accurate records of searches
  • Provide food and drink to detainees as needed, and ensure their physical and mental well-being

Requirements

  • A current driver's license, C1 License (valid CPC card desirable) / D License (with valid CPC card & Tacho Graph desirable)
  • Reasonable fitness level and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and control all situations, and work effectively as part of a team
