Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer to join our Commodity Team in Newport, UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create strategies to optimise supply chain operations and deliver cost reduction targets year on year.
  • Develop a robust and agile supply chain that supports business growth plans.
  • Understand group supply chain capabilities to identify synergy opportunities and regional sourcing models.
  • Owning the lifecycle from demand to pay.
  • Achieve smooth handover of suppliers/products/agreements to the tactical purchasing team.
  • Track and improve against KPIs aligned to internal and external customer requirements.
  • Conduct supplier visits to evaluate capability, capacity, and process control.
Requirements
  • Strong negotiation skills with category management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain strategic management.
  • In-depth understanding of supply processes to identify and deliver cost reductions.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, particularly SAP and Enovia (PLM).
  • Target-driven and proactive with a desire to grow this role and support the development of the Commodity Team.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet diverse challenges efficiently and effectively.
