Chief Economist of London

**Job Description:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Economist to join our team at the Greater London Authority (GLA). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality economic analysis and advice to inform the GLA's skills strategy and policy development.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, with experience in conducting research and complex analysis. They will also have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues to a range of audiences effectively.
The salary for this role is £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days' annual leave, interest-free season ticket loan, interest-free bicycle loan, and a career-average pension scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis to inform the GLA's skills strategy and policy development.
- Provide high-quality economic analysis and advice to support the work of the Skills and Employment Unit.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, academics, and industry experts.
- Present data and analysis to colleagues and other stakeholders through written material, verbal presentations, and seminars.
