Our client, a leading M&E contractor in the UK, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead the Mechanical element on a fast and complex project in Oxford. This £30m MEP scheme is a new build laboratory and pharma space based in an ever-growing science park.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Management: reviewing design, liaising with client, main contractor, and consultants
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit, and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs - Liaison with client team, main contractor, and subcontractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works - using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with subcontractor variation accounts working alongside project-specific Quantity Surveyor
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers, and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with subcontractors, client, and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
Requirements:
  • Familiarity working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £6M within your own discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior management role
  • Ideally, the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as ISG, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine, and Mace
  • The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
