Job Description

This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and building long-term supplier relationships to deliver high plans through value and innovation-focused category strategies. The successful candidate will have experience in driving profitable sales growth, managing large and complex categories, and delivering strategic category plans.


Key Responsibilities
  • Drive profitable sales growth by developing and executing category strategies that meet business objectives
  • Manage large and complex categories, ensuring delivery of accurate financial forecasts and weekly reporting of sales and profitability information
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers to drive strategic category plans and differentiation
  • Lead negotiations on behalf of the wider team with key suppliers and brands
  • Deliver accurate financial forecasting and budgeting

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive buying experience and knowledge of the retail industry
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience in food safety and quality management
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
