Procurement Specialist

As a Senior Category Buyer at 1st Executive, you will be part of a global purchasing and procurement team, responsible for purchasing direct commodities for your designated category. This role will involve a blend of tactical and strategic procurement, requiring you to design, develop, and implement category strategies and sourcing initiatives to drive business growth and success.
Key objectives include:
- Contributing to the company's sustained growth and success
- Reducing BOM and development costs
- Upholding and enhancing current high-quality standards
- Minimizing development lead times and finding efficiencies in the production process
- Identifying and implementing new market technologies to improve the product lineup
- Proactively managing risks and opportunities within the supply chain
You will collaborate with the wider product, design, and Quality Control (QC) teams and champion the development of the performance of the existing supply base.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience within a Purchasing and Procurement environment
- Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Effective organizational skills and time management
- Ability to work under pressure
- Commutable distance to Leicestershire (Hybrid basis)
Desirable:
- Degree in Business or Engineering related field
- Experience in an automotive / manufacturing environment
- Experience purchasing powertrain or chassis commodities
- Leadership experience
