Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Custom Interconnect Limited. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating and carrying out engineering activities to ensure the requirements for a product line or product group are met and complied with.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Projects: Assist senior engineers and management in the execution of tasks for engineering projects, communicate with project stakeholders the status of assigned tasks, and collect, present, and analyze data for reports submitted for the purpose of project evaluation.
- Team Working: Work alongside other manufacturing engineers and more junior or graduate engineers on joint tasks, day-to-day tasks, medium/long-term projects, training, mentoring, and development.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop processes to ensure the best possible quality and reduce waste, increase efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Identify, measure, monitor, and report on process indicators or other measurables to help drive improvement.
- Process Validation and Verification: Use documented Standard Operating Procedures, Process Capability, and Gauge R&R to continuously verify and validate manufacturing processes.
- Engineering Documents: Ensure equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures are documented and reviewed regularly for accuracy and compliance. Train and mentor junior and graduate engineers on key items of manufacturing equipment, engineering disciplines, procedures, and individual performance.
- Personal Development and Training: Continuously evaluate own training needs with line manager, in order to further develop skills and knowledge and engage with recommended/offered training plans and courses, in line with current and/or forecasted business requirements.
- Production Training: Assist Production Teams in identifying training needs for new and current operators, and deliver training on equipment and processes. Work with supervisors and production teams to ensure standards of workmanship are met and the working environment is maintained. Help resolve instances of poor performance and identify developmental training and personal improvement plans for individual operators.
- Production Support: Support Production Teams in all matters technical, address technical issues, re-optimize processes, and troubleshoot.
- Quality Support: Assist quality engineers in investigating instances of poor quality or customer returns, compile evidence and data for 8D reports, review and evaluate process risk for PFMEAs, and support with both internal and external audits.
- Business Management Systems: Assist senior engineers and management in identifying, documenting, recording, and reporting on procedures, processes, and key performance indicators.
- A minimum of 2 years working in a relevant manufacturing environment.
- It would be desirable to hold a HNC or HND in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
