About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Innovate. As a key member of our Electrical and Electronic Engineering function, you will play a crucial role in the hardware development lifecycle, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Verification: Design and verify digital and analogue electronic hardware to meet requirements within budget and on schedule.
  • Design Calculations and Simulations: Perform design calculations, simulations, and prototyping to estimate performance, identify risks, and ensure high-quality designs with minimal need for redesign.
  • Hardware Development: Develop and test electronic hardware according to the hardware development process.
  • Project Management: Estimate and adhere to time and effort requirements for electronic hardware tasks to ensure cost and schedule compliance.
  • Technical Direction: Provide technical direction across multiple projects to ensure optimal design and architecture choices.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are suitable for volume production and assist with rapid debugging to minimise delays.
  • Design Reviews: Actively contribute to design reviews and work constructively with team members to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Communication: Clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Information Security: Manage information security in accordance with the Security Manual to ensure compliance with government regulations.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering Degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience in High-speed Digital Design or Analogue Circuit Design.
  • Proven Ability to Design Reliable Power Supplies that meet specifications, analyse performance across various conditions, and accurately estimate performance.
  • Schematic Capture Tools and PCB Layout knowledge.
  • Experience in Developing Large, Complex Designs requiring multi-layer PCBs, including PCB stack-up design.
Desirable Skills

The following skills are desirable:

  • Understanding of Design and Testing for EMC and TEMPEST.
  • Experience with Tools such as DOORS, PADS, and/or PSpice.
Role Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be Able to Obtain SC Security Clearance.
  • Be Willing to Obtain DV Security Clearance in some cases.
