We are seeking a reliable and efficient Mail Handler to join our team at Pertemps. As a Mail Handler, you will be responsible for unloading mail and packages from vans or lorries, moving mail and packages through the distribution centre, and helping to sort letters and parcels.

About the Role

  • Unload mail and packages from vans or lorries
  • Move mail and packages through the distribution centre
  • Help sort letters and parcels

Requirements

  • Good communication skills
  • Able to push trolleys (up to 250kg) and lift/move mail bags (up to 11kg)
  • Comfortable with extended periods of walking and standing
  • Happy to consent to a criminal record check (Basic DBS) prior to starting work, paid for by Pertemps

Working Conditions

  • Afternoon shift – 2pm – 10pm, 5 days out of 7
  • Some flexibility to start at 1500, 1600 or 1700
  • £16.23 per hour (pay rate applies from 28/10/2024 – 12/01/2025)
  • Pay rate outside of seasonal peak - £13.90 per hour
  • Overtime rate paid after 40 hours worked
  • Free parking on site, accessible by bus 10 or 12, 1 mile from Severn Beach train station
  • Full PPE and full training are provided
