Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Supervisor to join our team at a leading transport and distribution company in Immingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of daily transport operations, supporting our drivers and transport teams, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Ensure that all transport activities comply with current legislation, including tachograph, Working Time Directive (WTD), and driver hours regulations.
- Liaise with internal departments and external customers to ensure service levels and delivery requirements are met.
- Conduct regular driver briefings, performance reviews, and training to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Oversee the completion and accuracy of transport documentation, including manifests, delivery notes, and compliance records.
- Assist in managing breakdowns, vehicle servicing, and arranging MOTs to ensure the fleet is fully operational.
- Support the transport manager in monitoring KPIs and ensuring continuous improvement within the department.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a transport or logistics supervisory or management role.
- Knowledge of road freight forwarding is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, including O-Licence compliance and health and safety standards.
- Competency in route planning and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of road freight forwarding or international logistics is a plus.
- Valid UK driving license.
