Job Summary:


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Domestic Assistant to join our team at Medirest, a specialist healthcare company providing hotel services to over 130 NHS Trusts and private hospitals.


About the Role:



  • As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospital environments, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • You will be responsible for high and low dusting, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces, as well as cleaning of wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, and public areas.
  • Ensuring rubbish bins are maintained and removed when full is also a key aspect of this role.
  • You will maintain high hospital standards by ensuring all areas are clean, presentable, and safe for visitors, following required policies and procedures.
  • Use of equipment in accordance with the role, following all Health & Safety guidelines, is also essential.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required, as you will interact with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
  • Able to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.
  • Confident working in a hospital environment, aware that you may come into contact with patients who are particularly unwell or showing signs of distress.
  • No prior experience as a Domestic Assistant is necessary; what matters is taking pride in your work and a willingness to learn and go the extra mile for our patients.
