Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to produce electrical design and engineer and develop Power Generating facilities, including Energy Storage, Hydrogen, Solar, Wind, Microgrids, Gas-Powered Generation, and CHP plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate and develop concepts into designs to meet the functional and contractual specifications of secured orders.
  • Support and assist in the sales stage of a project by providing conceptual design and tender preparation documents.
  • Liaise with Mechanical Design Engineer to identify project requirements and develop detailed designs.
  • Coordinate and lead activity to ensure design packages are produced to required timescales and standards of quality.
  • Provide support to the Project Manager during design, installation, commissioning, and testing phases of the project.
  • Liaise with existing and potential customers and their representatives.
  • Participate in HAZOP and risk assessment studies.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure design standards and specifications are up to date.
  • Provide support to Electrical Engineers in terms of advice, development, and approval/sign off for design documents.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND if supported by substantial relevant experience).
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of working in an associated industry with a background in power generation (between 1-25MW).
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage power trains and associated control and instrumentation.
  • Good IT Skills - MS Office.
