Job Title: Mechanical Shift Technician

As a Mechanical Shift Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out planned preventative maintenance, as well as respond to breakdowns and perform repairs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures and improve overall efficiency.
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Report all work activities and actions taken via shift reports and maintenance records.
  • Be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements to equipment performance and overall production efficiency.
  • Provide a high level of service to meet agreed service levels, minimizing downtime and communicating effectively with relevant personnel.
  • Maintain and improve health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Collaborate with contractors and ensure their adherence to site rules, health and safety, and food safety standards.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Train and mentor others to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Personal Responsibilities:
  • Follow all site rules and responsibilities under the company's Health and Safety at Work Policy.
  • Ensure the correct use and maintenance of equipment on site.
  • Report any safety infringements and forward health and safety issues or suggestions to the Health and Safety Officer.
  • Be aware of emergency exit locations and practice correct evacuation procedures.
  • Follow correct handling procedures for lifting and potentially hazardous products.
  • Be aware of waste separation and recycling requirements.
Communication:

Communicate accurately and effectively with all members of staff to ensure the performance of your role and company performance. Raise any issues immediately to ensure they are resolved quickly.

This role operates on a four on/off shift pattern, with 2 x 12 days and 2 x 12 nights, followed by 18 days off. Overtime is available.
