Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Westview Community Hospital in Tenterden. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the smooth running of our hospital.

Main Duties

As a Healthcare Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing essential care to patients in an in-patient setting
  • Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality care and support to patients and their families
  • Monitoring the quality of care and providing feedback to managers

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support. Your patients may be elderly, have physical disabilities, or be terminally ill, and you will work to keep them safe and well during their stay.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant level 2 qualification (NVQ / QCF certificate of care / apprenticeship) or equivalent Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Experience in a health or social care setting and experience of working as part of a team
  • Awareness of fundamental care needs and knowledge of up to date clinical practice
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and ability to cope with change
