Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Vetro Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our client's independent special school in Pentyrch, Cardiff.

Job Details:

  • Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEN
  • Location: Pentyrch, Cardiff
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to support our pupils with various learning difficulties, including visual and hearing impairments, mobility issues, and complex health and social needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support and supervise pupils in classroom environments, assisting in accessing the community and participating in activities to help develop life skills
  • Provide personal care where necessary
  • Work with pupils in small groups or one-to-one
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

Requirements:

  • At least 3 months' experience of working with young people in schools or childcare settings
  • Experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Comfortable supporting young people with personal care
  • Basic Sign language or Makaton would be an advantage
