Job Description

Broadwood Resources Limited is a leading provider of high-quality childcare services. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team at our state-of-the-art nursery in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years, in line with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
  • Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times.
  • Develop and implement an appropriate play-based EYFS curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
  • Plan activities that ensure each child is working towards the Early Learning outcomes.
  • Develop partnerships with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children's progress, and encouraging parents to increase involvement in their child's development.
  • Be a key person, ensuring records are maintained sufficiently to inform progress against the Early Learning goals, including observations, assessments, daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments.
  • Understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
  • Ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others.
  • Helping to ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
  • Undertake designated officer roles as directed.
  • Work together with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
  • Work in partnership with senior management to update and review the self-evaluation and improvement plan.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the nursery lead, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and proven experience of working with children aged 0-5 years.
  • Empathy and understanding of children under five years of age.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the EYFS and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities.
  • A commitment to quality in all areas, with a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to be innovative and creative.
  • The ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records, with administrative and basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Excellent organisational, motivational, and negotiation skills.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able.
  • A calm and caring nature.
  • A creative thinker with a good sense of humour.
  • Able to commit with the ability to perform under stress.
  • Able to make decisions and be accountable with the ability to work at all levels.
  • A level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification is required for this role.
  • Paediatric first aid.
