About the Role

Amer Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Maintenance Team, you will play a critical role in delivering solutions to improve process reliability, product quality, and plant-wide performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Control Systems: Maintain backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation, and manage SCADA-type devices in an industrial environment.
  • Instrumentation and Control: Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog, and digital).
  • PLC Programming: Configure and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC).
  • Project Management: Organize and order PLC control components to maintain plant process control systems, and manage projects for implementing changes and improvements.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports for documenting issues/changes to equipment.
  • On-Call Support: Be available to support production needs on an as-needed basis.
  • Electrical and Fluid Connections: Install and terminate electrical, pneumatic, and fluid connections.
  • Instrumentation and System Testing: Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
  • Component Repair and Replacement: Remove, repair, adjust, and replace components.
  • Calibration and Maintenance: Calibrate components and systems, and perform scheduled maintenance programs.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in technology in the industry and trade.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience in PLC logic and programming with Allen-Bradley PLCs and other types of controllers.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, hectic, and demanding environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, and testing.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a cooperative yet assertive attitude.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
