Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at Apex Engineering Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial gas boilers and heat networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance activities on commercial gas boilers, pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, and degassers.
  • Repair and reinstate commercial plant, including commercial gas boilers and other equipment.
  • Conduct fault finding and repairs to commercial gas boilers and other equipment, including pumps and pipework.
  • Attend reactive call-outs to sites to reinstate heat and resolve plant failures.
  • Participate in an on-call rota and attend callouts, typically one week in four.
  • Review root causes for plant failure and resolve operational issues that arise.
  • Manage site-based project work and develop the scope of works for plant remediation.
  • Ensure safe isolation of equipment before commencing works.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records of maintenance activities, including completion of clear and concise online work orders.

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial gas qualifications.
  • Operational knowledge of commercial gas boilers is required, with knowledge of heat network energy centers and plantrooms or comparable systems desirable.
  • Able to read technical drawings, including P&IDs and mechanical schematics.
  • Basic electrical competency preferred.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
  • Full UK driving license.
