About the Role

We're seeking a skilled High Voltage Protection & Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you'll design and deliver Technical Protection & Control solutions for EHV substation projects, including AIS & GIS substations at voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV.

You'll work closely with National Grid to review and design P&C packages, create engineering calculations and documentation, visit sites to assess project requirements, and provide ongoing design support during project build.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and develop your skills in electrical networks and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver Technical Protection & Control solutions for EHV substation projects
  • Review and design P&C packages in collaboration with National Grid
  • Create engineering calculations and documentation
  • Visit sites to assess project requirements and provide ongoing design support
  • Review designs produced by suppliers and clients to ensure technical compliance
Requirements
  • HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in designing protection and control schemes
  • Knowledge of electrical networks and engineering standards
  • Experience in interpreting technical documentation relating to design

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
