English Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic English teacher to join our team at a wonderful school in Enfield. As an English teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering a love of literature, and laying a strong foundation in English language skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the needs of students.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their English skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans and schemes of work.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Monitor and manage student behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and progress.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in English Language, Literature, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience teaching English in a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and parents/guardians.
  • Passion for education and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Organized and efficient, with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
