About the Position
The machine operator role is part of the production team and will work on machines allocated by the shift supervisor. The operator will run the machines, following the planned production schedule, on a shift rotation. Full training will be given by the company. Our client is looking for someone who has worked with manufacturing/factory machinery.



Key Responsibilities


  • Follow a 3-rotation shift pattern, which may include early, middle, and late shifts, or a 2-rotation shift pattern, which may include Monday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday shifts.
  • Complete company-provided safety and quality training.
  • Complete a 3-month training course in our Switzerland-based company and successfully roll out training back in the Slough UK site.
  • Operate all machinery in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Run and maintain the production of extrusion and coating lamination, including printing, ensuring all safety and quality procedures are followed while remaining on track with the production plan.
  • Professional set-up, operation, and monitoring of the laminating machine for the production of multi-layer composites.
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the laminating machine.
  • Slitting material produced from the laminators and extrusion machines into tapes as per the customer's requirement, following strict quality procedures.
  • Operate all production lines after appropriate training.
  • Support and help in the cross-training of other team members.
  • Covering holiday and sick leave.
  • Control and optimization of production processes.
  • Independent monitoring of ongoing production.
  • Preparation of all materials for laminating application and control.
  • Adherence to time and quality requirements.
  • Process the material through the ERP Styeline system.
  • Ensuring that all company-driven SOPs and instructions are followed.
  • Understanding of Quality Systems would be an advantage.
  • Must have basic numeric and literacy skills to ensure accurate recording of data using set paperwork.
  • Moving and managing material using electric pump trucks and forklifts.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment.
  • Be able to read, understand, and follow production plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Focus driven to hit production targets.
  • Keep the area clean and tidy.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to work overtime.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and read English.
