We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Clinical Optometrist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist ophthalmology and orthoptics department, providing high-quality optometry care to patients. As a Clinical Optometrist, you will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing eye conditions, developing treatment plans, and working closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess and diagnose eye conditions using advanced diagnostic techniques and equipment.
  • To develop and implement treatment plans for individual patients, taking into account their medical history, age, and other relevant factors.
  • To work collaboratively with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
  • To maintain accurate records of patient episodes, including coding appropriate activity and ensuring proper storage, backup, and retrieval of information.
  • To contribute to the effective running of the ophthalmology and orthoptics service, ensuring efficient workflows and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • BSc/MSc in Optometry or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the General Optical Council.
  • Post-graduate experience with evidence of role extension, particularly in hospital settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A flexible approach to working practice, with the ability to respond to changing service needs.

The estimated salary for this position is £55,500 - £61,400 per annum, depending on experience.
