Rail Technician Craigentinny

We are seeking a skilled Rail Technician to join our team at Craigentinny train depot in Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical duties on rolling stock, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform scheduled maintenance activities on rolling stock in accordance with vehicle maintenance instructions
- Undertake servicing and preparation of rolling stock
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities for maintenance processes and procedures
- Support the delivery of new trains and undertake maintenance acceptance processes
- Ensure exam tasks are completed in a timely manner and undertake basic fault rectification or repair when required
- Level 3 minimum qualification
- Experience of working at stabling outstations or main line station technical support
- Modern fault finding and repair techniques using PC-based laptops and remote train diagnostics
- Reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings
- Extensive experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and available trend analysis
- Underframe/IP connector checks
- Door interlock switch protection plates
- Header panel pin change
- Wifi change out
- Fitting and re-fitting electrical components
- Uploading and downloading software data
- Electrical pinning and de-pinning
- Detailed electrical wiring
- Crimping
- Follow schematics
- Basic fault finding and Fluke meter tests
- Implementation of modifications IAW Mod instructions
- Checking of defect reporting systems
