About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to work closely with our Commercial Team, providing effective quantity surveying and commercial management support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost and Value Management: Ensure accurate and timely cost management and value engineering.
  • Commercial Reporting: Assist in providing commercial and financial reporting information to stakeholders.
  • Forecasting: Collaborate with the operations team to prepare clear and accurate quarterly forecasts.
  • Contract Variations: Identify and manage contract variations, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Change Management: Manage and record changes, including submission and agreement of early warning notices, compensation events, and quotations.
  • Final Accounts: Agree final accounts with clients, ensuring accurate and timely settlements.
  • Client Budgets: Understand client budgets and maintain open dialogue to achieve year-end targets.
  • Commercial Processes: Implement commercial processes to ensure contractual entitlement is realized.
  • Subcontract Procurement: Manage subcontract procurement and management.
  • Cost Reconciliation: Perform monthly cost and value reconciliation and management.
  • Team Management: Manage direct reports, including annual performance reviews.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Milestone standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities.
Requirements:
  • Quantity Surveying or related construction degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Reasonable level of commercial experience within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highway maintenance and civil engineering experience, preferably with a contracting organization.
  • Understanding of the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
