**Job Title:** Special Education Assistant - Behavioural Support

**Salary:** £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

**Job Description:** As a Special Education Assistant - Behavioural Support, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide care and support to children with autism and other special needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with ASD and SEN on a 1:1 basis, promoting their independence and self-confidence.
  • Providing day-to-day support to Teachers in teaching and learning, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting colleagues in undertaking personal care-related tasks, such as administering medication and providing physical support.
  • Working effectively alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Adhering to Schools policies, including Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Behaviour Management.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:** To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of supporting children with ASD and other challenging behaviors.
  • At least 3 months of experience working as a Special Needs Teaching assistant with special needs children.
  • A commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to children's needs.
