We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at Overton Park Surgery, providing exceptional care to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, working collaboratively with the general practice team to meet patient needs. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, and implementing care plans, managing long-term conditions, and promoting health and wellbeing through education and support.

Main Duties:
  • Providing comprehensive nursing care that meets patient needs, including assessments, care planning, and implementation.
  • Managing patients with chronic diseases, following practice protocols and best practices.
  • Supporting patients in adopting healthy living strategies, encouraging self-care and promoting health promotion.
  • Undertaking health screenings, surveillance, and immunizations, ensuring safe vaccine storage and implementation of cold chain policy.
  • Prioritizing health problems and intervening appropriately in complex, urgent, or emergency situations.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage your workload independently. Experience with community working, domiciliary visits, and mentorship of students is also desirable.

Requirements:
  • NMC Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Evidence of post-registration training and continued personal development.
  • Experience with childhood vaccinations and cervical cytology.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a positive impact on patient care. We offer a competitive salary package, with a base salary estimated to be £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
